Anderson Deco has taken a different view to Joan Laporta, dismissing Luis de la Fuente’s fault for using Lamine Yamal, who was injured playing for Spain.

Barcelona sporting director Anderson Deco has refused to blame Spain coach Luis de la Fuente for his handling of Lamine Yamal injury ahead of the Spanish champions’ release of the player to continue his rehabilitation, Ufabet reported on Friday.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta had previously criticised De la Fuente over his handling of Yamal’s injury, which he suffered after the 1-0 win over Denmark, accusing the Spanish side of pressuring the 17-year-old forward to play against Serbia, with the Blaugrana eventually agreeing to let him return to his club.

However, Deco did not blame De La Fuente for his handling of Yamal’s injury, saying that the root cause of the problem should be address through the reform of the increasingly competitive schedule.

‘The problem is not De La Fuente, he does his job, he is a coach and he tries to bring in the best players. We have to do something with the calendar. There were not many official matches for the national team before, it is clear that the young players have to play a lot of games.’

‘Gavi or Pedri as well, but not only us. It seems like we risk our lives in every game. We have to look after Lamine, he is in training, Promotion ufabet but if we train separately, we are not being fair to the others.’
